Alan Steinberg got his start with Yuri’s Night in 2008 by being a local volunteer with the Yuri’s Night events in Houston, TX. In 2009 he became a member of the Yuri’s Night Global Executive Team engaging in special projects on behalf of the YN Executive Directors and leading research efforts in support of the YN mission.
Alan is an Associate Director in the Center for Civic Leadership at Rice University. His focus is on applied political science research and education; including civic research and design, the impact of social media on political engagement, and understanding factors influencing space policy. In addition to Yuri’s Night, Alan is active in the space community through his service as on the editorial board for the Journal of Astrosociology and the board of directors for the Moon Society. He recently completed a four year term as a Regional Coordinator for the Space Generation Advisory Council.
Yuri's Night is the World Space Party. Every year on or around April 12th we celebrate all that humanity brings with us as we explore the cosmos: music, art, science, culture, and each other! We use space to bring the world together, to empower the greatest parts of who we are, and give vision to where we are going. Join us and rock the planet by planning an event or finding an event. We'd love to hear from you! Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
Sign up for Yuri's Night newsletters. We send one every few months, but more around April. Your email is confidential; we won't sell it. And we never spam.
